From the Archives of
Christ Church Bay Ridge

Photo of Christ Church Bay Ridge.

Christ Church is a picturesque Episcopal parish in the heart of the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY. Established there in 1853, several of its founding families number among those who played a hand in the early history of Bay Ridge, including the naming of this section of Brooklyn: prior to the mid-1850s, Bay Ridge was originally known as Yellow Hook.

The files in this section of the website (see the sub-menu at the left) come from several sources, including my own photography and a sampling of Christ Church's archives. The major undertaking of digitalizing that archives is currently being discussed, so look forward to possibly seeing some of that here, too, in the not too distant future.
